Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day is a holiday of Christian origin observed in the United States of America every fourth Thursday of November and in Canada every second Monday of October, as a sign of gratitude to God for the harvest and for what was received during the year passed.
The first day of Thanksgiving is commonly traced back to 1621, when in the city of Plymouth, Massachusetts, the pilgrim fathers gathered to thank the Lord for the good harvest.
In 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln proclaimed the celebration of Thanksgiving which from that time became an annual holiday and gradually lost its Christian content. Today it represents one of the most important holidays for North Americans.
